Biography

Yeghia Kibalian, better known as YUG is a DJ, Producer, and Songwriter born in Toronto, Canada on the 21st of January 1978. YUG began his music career by establishing an independent record label, YUGmusic, in 1999. In 2000, YUG signed his first single, “You Don’t Really Love Me” to Ministry of Sounds Rulin Records Imprint which was then featured on the infamous compilation, “Clubbers Guide to Ibiza” (2001 Series). In 2002, YUG wrote and produced the single “Soul Soothing Sunshine” which was released on Netherland’s Record Label, Spinnin Records and was featured on over 28 compilations worldwide.

In the years that followed, YUG worked on various artist projects, singles, collaborations and remixes. Notably, he engineered and produced 16 releases on his record label 44th and Filth (2009-2011), which received support from the world’s top DJ’s such as Tiesto, Erick Morillo, Kaskade, and Roger Sanchez. In 2012, YUG remixed the Dutch DJ Duo The Bingo Players‘ smash hit, “Cry (just a little)” which was released on Big Beat/Atlantic Records. In 2013, he worked with James Doman to write and co-produce, “The Key” for Calvin Harris’ record label Fly Eye which premiered on David Guetta’s radio show.

Simultaneously, while remixing and producing club hits, YUG redefines himself by taking influences from his house music, big room, electro, and progressive roots to bring an illustrious sound and evocative brand of song writing to create his artist project, Boss and Swan (2010 to current). The formula led to the 2013 collaboration with world renowned DJ/Producer ATB where he co-wrote and co-produced for ATB‘s ninth studio album, “Contact” released in 2014 on Kontor Records. The album reached Number 1 on the iTunes German Dance Charts, Number 3 on the iTunes U.S. Dance Charts, Number 2 on the iTunes Finland Dance Charts and Number 5 on German National Charts. In 2015, YUG is set to release one of his latest productions, “After Tonight” which features the beautiful talents of Grammy Award Winning Artist Melanie Fiona.

YUG’s vision of the EDM landscape is infinite and borderless as he continues to use it as his playground in the months and years ahead.
